My name is Daniela and I’m from Italy. I applied for my ESC in Salzburg exactly two years ago. I really wanted to make an experience abroad after my studies and I’ve found out a nice project in Salzburg related to my field. I’ve been selected to volunteer in a local community TV called FS1 and with my one-way ticket to Austria my new life officially started.

I’ve managed for one year a TV recording studio, but my tasks included also video editing, graphic design and motion graphic design projects. 

My host organization – Akzente - let me get in touch with many other volunteers and I lived in an international environment for the whole year. I met people from all around Europe and improved my language skills, both English and German. I attended language classes and I’ve been involved in local events and uses.

During my ESC I’ve explored mountains and lakes in Salzburgerland and enjoied the Christmas time in the city centre. But I’ve also faced with a different culture and way of living that made my experience exciting, but not always easy. Sometimes I missed my family and my friends, but this experience helped me to be stronger and brave.

The Arrival and Mid-Term Trainings helped me to get information about the project and to focus on my personal point. 

I’ve decided to stay in Austria. I actually live and work in Vienna: I wouldn’t be here without my ESC and the strength it gave me to move alone to another city. 

In Vienna I wanted to stay in touch with the National Agency and the European projects: for this reason, I’m now part of the Europeers movement.

My life is deeply changed after my ESC experience and I’m really thankful to have been part of this opportunity.
