Heyyy people,
Some weeks ago I saw a post from Erasmus 30 Jahre about Erasmus couples. So I decided to share a bit of my relationship.
Last winter semester Erik came to Wels (Austria) to do his exchange semester where I am studying my Master's. He is from Friesland- Netherlands. I was one of the students who used to help new incoming International students along with International office. As we call in FH Wels, a 'buddy'. Although I was not a buddy to him, I was a tour guide for city tour and pub crawl. After some weeks, we ended up in the same friends group hanging out all the time. After that everything started to came together, with the blink of an eye we were together(Prost!!). At the end of the semester, by the time he suppose to leave things became a bit stressful but me getting an internship in the Netherlands put our minds at ease. A relationship starts with an Erasmus -exchange semester continued with Erasmus- internship, we are together for a year now and its just incredible how the things worked out for us.
Best thing about Erasmus-semester's and multicultural relationships that you get to travel a lot. We traveled throughout Hungary, Slovenia, Greece, Turkey, Netherlands and Austria together. Went to skiing/ snowboarding, scuba diving, paragliding, sailed through the Netherlands... From attending to Turkish wedding in Marmaris to watching The Elfstedentocht (254 km long bike race) in Workum,Friesland, witnessing each others culture and experiencing all those stuff is priceless. I recommend everybody to have an multicultural relationship :D
Cheers,
Elif
