About ESTILC:

I had the opportunity to complete a two-week intensive course in the language and culture of Estonia This ended up being a fantastic decision, and one of the best classes that I have ever taken. The course helped me to better understand Estonia’s people and culture, as well as my own culture. I was challenged to think about what we have in Austria, how it’s different from Estonia, and what I can learn from life here.

Even on the weekends my two professors showed us parts of the country and how the people live. I will tell you more about this trip in my next post.

In the past two weeks I not only learned the basics of this language, but I discovered how amazing it is when you can ask the cashier how she is doing and she smiles back at you with her answer.

I'm still trying to learn the language through an app on my phone, through listening to music, and by practicing talking to others no matter where I am.
