My last post

Since tomorrow is the last day of the Erasmus diary I want to thank all the people who make this half year an incredible experience!

In my last post, I would like to thank all the people who made it possible for me to spend a year abroad. Furthermore, I wish to acknowledge my friends and family who have supported me in every way. And the people who welcomed me with open arms and brought me closer to their culture.

I do not want to miss all the experiences that I have been able to encounter so far. It was and is an incredible and intense time, where I got to know not only a country and it's people but also learned a lot about myself. To dive into a culture and its values is an experience I can probably fall back on all my life. What moved me most was the people. Even though they seem distant and cool at first glance, they are very warmhearted, helpful and, above all, honest. They have an incredible desire to build up their land, which they master well. Estonia is one of the most advanced countries when it comes to digitization. This means that the Estonians pay their public transport or parking tickets with their mobile phone. They use their ID card to start a new business, submit their tax return or select their election preferences and much more.

In addition, I also learned to value my own country more. This study visit and through a variety of travel, the world is getting smaller and smaller for me. Every country has its beautiful and less beautiful sides. What unites us is our humanness and our basic human needs for love, happiness, a home, family, friends, security and peace. Yes, the essential values seem to be the same for each person, no matter how different we live. Therefore, such a stay abroad is a great opportunity for everyone to widen their gaze, to get out of their comfort zone and to immerse themselves in a new culture and to develop in the further.

In my experience, it is truly the limits we should overcome to recognize our commonalities, to dissolve fears of the unknown and to recognize in the diversity of cultures and people a treasure to be discovered. Because we can all learn from each other! Yes, such a stay abroad offers a great opportunity .... let us use them to solve the upcoming global challenges together.
