Every training session consisted of three key phases:
• Warm-up: Led by a physiotherapist, the athletes completed tailored exercises designed to activate their muscles and prepare them for the specific demands of curling. The physiotherapist’s involvement ensured that health and safety were prioritized from the very beginning.
• On-ice training: The session began with time dedicated to “feeling the ice.” Athletes were encouraged to carefully test the conditions of the sheet, adjusting their throws accordingly. This was followed by targeted drills to work on technical precision and consistency. Finally, the training concluded with game-like scenarios, such as practicing end situations or playing mixed doubles matches.
• Post-session discussion: Coaches and athletes gathered after training to reflect on what worked, what challenges arose, and how progress could be made. Both a curling coach and the physiotherapist were present throughout the process, ensuring technical expertise and physical well-being were addressed together.
